Meanwhile, Back at the Homestead :: March 8th, 2003 ::
On my way to work the other morning, I noticed at one point that on each passing telephone pole there was affixed a hand-written poster. I read them successively: “go!”; “fight!”; “win!” To which I couldn’t help but respond: “OK, I will!”
I have a long ride into work. It’s about fifty minutes each way.
But I am living up at the barn for a couple of weeks. It’s been cold, and a little lonely, but I’ve been able to get some reading done and work without the distractions of television and high-speed Internet. And while I must admit I was surprised that a lack of cable modem/T-1 line actually makes me more productive and focused, it’s a welcome condition.
And it was sunny and warm today, for the first time in I can’t remember how long. I took some pictures, even (yes, I still have a camera), which you can find here. Bear in mind that while it is late winter, here, it bears no resemblance to anything I would ever characterize as spring.
But I still enjoyed the day, definitely.
