Back on the ground :: March 3rd, 2004 ::
Yes, there’ s been some trouble for the past couple of days around here. It seems that passwords were reset. Databases were inaccessible. Sentences were devoid of actors. And all the while, I was flying on an airplane back to the Midwest.
But I’m back on the ground now, in Milwaukee. I find it strange, though generally nice to be back here. Most surprising about my visit so far is my discovery that, while I’ve been in Vermont, I’ve become a left-wing radical. I say that mostly because the policies I most agree with — such as marriage rights for gay couples and economic plans that help, rather than hurt, poor people — do not have nearly the amount of support around here that they do back in Vermont. That’s somewhat strange, but still, it’s nice to stand out from the crowd for a couple of days.
Oh, and I’m here only for a couple more days. I leave first thing Saturday morning. So if you want to get together, drop a line sometime before then.
